The 2018 Tour of California has seen plenty of action already, and stage three promised more great racing with five categorised climbs and a finish on Laguna Seca motor racing circuit.

This year’s start list for the American WorldTour stage race boasts a host of climbers, including Egan Bernal (Team Sky), Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing), Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott), and Rafal Majka (Bora-Hansgrohe)

The third stage is second of three mountain stages, with stage six on Saturday offering the only remaining chance for the climbers to gain time.

Many of the riders taking on the Tour of California will be returning from a mid-season break after the Classics season, as they begin to build towards the 2018 Tour de France on beginning on July 7.

Mixed with a plethora of domestic American riders, the start list also features some notable overall contenders and a strong sprinting field, including stage one winner Fernando Gaviria (Quick-Step Floors), Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe), Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data), Marcel Kittel (Katusha-Alpecin), and Alexander Kristoff (UAE Team Emirates
