A selection of images from the final Adventure Cross event of the year which took place in Cumbria

Over 900 riders took to Fitz Park in Keswick, Cumbria, for the second edition of the Lakeland Monster Miles Adventure Cross event on Sunday, which was blessed by glorious sunshine throughout the day.

The mixed terrain courses of either 45 or 62 miles took riders across the challenging terrain of the Lake District, offering spectacular views on courses designed for cyclocross or hardtail mountain bikes.

The Monster Miles was the last of five events in the 2014 Adventure Cross series, which saw riders take on tough multi-terrain courses all over the country including in Wales, Scotland and in North Yorkshire.

Any chance getting a map with the ‘sections’ that were labelled on the route? I’d love to see where each section was in relation to the printed map we were given, but cannot remember all the sections!

I did the Lakeland Monster ride yesterday and I really enjoyed it. It was my first ever cycle event and won’t be my last. Yes it was hard going in places but the rewards were some exhilarating descents. The organisation was spot on and the weather was perfect. Thanks for a great day.
