The 2012 Tour of Britain takes a trip through Wales, heading due south from Welshpool on an undulating route through the Brecon Beacons and onto Caerphilly for the finish.

A double-header of first category climbs will greet the riders mid-way through today’s route – Cwm Owen and the Brecon Beacons. Then there’s a vicious sting in the tail with two leg-sapping passes of Caerphilly Mountain before the finish.

It’s a day that will shape the King of the Mountains classification, and probably the top order of the overall.
