Endura Pro Adrenaline Race Cape review

The Endura Pro Adrenaline Race Cape gives great all round protection against the elements.

Cycling Weekly Verdict

Other than superb portability and a surprising level of breathability, what impressed us most about this jacket was its water resistance despite its low weight. It’s perhaps not ideal for a long training ride in heavy rain, but for racing or sportives, pretty much perfect.

Lightweight, waterproof, translucent, and very waterproof, the Endura Pro Adrenaline Race Cape is pretty close to the perfect rain cape. The nylon fabric does a great job of keeping you dry even in heavy rain, but remains breathable to prevent overheating even when working hard in the middle of an interval set or in race situations.

However this is much more than a £65 piece of see-through plastic. Endura has included a padded storm flap and collar for comfort, meaning that you don't have the rough inside of a zip scratching against your chin and neck. Comfort and warmth are also improved by the elasticated cuffs which do a good job of keeping out the wind but aren't so tight that they dig into your wrists.

Thankfully, despite these features, the Endura Pro Adrenaline Race Cape stuffs down small enough to be stuffed in a rear pocket in the middle of a race. My only complaint was the slightly baggy fit, which meant that the jacket was liable to flapping about in the wind.
