Entries available for 2014 Circuit of Kent sportive

One of longest-running British sportives is also one of the best, with first-class organisation and routes through the Garden of England

Entries are still available for one of Britain’s longest-running and best-loved cyclo-sportives, the Circuit of Kent.

Now in its 17th year, the Circuit of Kent on Sunday, September 7, features two picturesque routes around the Garden of England – 80km (approx 50 miles) and 130km (approx 81 miles). The event was the first to offer gold, silver and bronze finishing time standards based on age and gender.

Both routes start at Godden Green near Sevenoaks, and take in the hills and idyllic scenery that is typical of the area: oast houses, pretty villages and fields of trees bursting with ripe fruit. Refreshment points on route feature food, drink and toilets.

Finishers can then expect to be treated to music from a live band and a dazzling array of post-ride food, both hot and cold.

A corporate team entry scheme is available to encourage riders to take to the roads with their workmates and raise money for charity. They can agree to raise £100 sponsorship (silver) or £200 sponsorship (gold) and receive a 2014 ‘Circuit of Kent’ race jersey complete with the name of their company, plus other benefits.

Over the years, the event has raised a total of half a million pounds for cancer charities.

Entry to the event costs £30.
