Thursday, April 30, is the final day for pre-entries for the 2015 Forest of Dean Classic sportive, which takes place over May 3-4.
Returning for its 11th year, the Monmouth-based event now runs over two days for 2015, with the the Monmouthshire Challenge on Sunday May 3 and the Forest of Dean Classic on Bank Holiday Monday May 4.
If they don’t fill up beforehand, entries to both events will be available on the line, but with a £5 surcharge.
Monmouthshire Challenge joins the traditional Forest of Dean Classic route over May 3-4
The Monmouthshire Challenge uses a 62-mile (100km) course, which includes some of the 2014 British Road Race Championship route through the county.
Monday’s Forest of Dean Classic includes two routes over 62 and 90 miles (145km). The shorter route holds 6000 feet of climbing, with the longer loop packing in 18 major climbs and 9000 feet of ascending – a tough challenge. Both routes include an ascent of Symonds Yat.
The Monmouthshire Challenge costs £15 and the Forest of Dean Classic £35, or £45 for both events. Event entry includes free parking, camping, feed stops, mechanical back-up, timing and free tea, coffee and porridge at the start plus food at the finish.
