The Tour of Menorca, or Volta Cicloturista International, is a three-day end-of-season sportive with rolling road closures in warm weather on the Spanish Balearic Island of Menorca over the weekend Friday 18 to Sunday 20 October 2013.
This is the thirteenth running of the event and is growing in popularity with UK riders with its mix of sunshine, great roads, current and former professional cyclists and a very friendly atmosphere. Add to this the rolling road closure, police escort; medical and mechanical back up en route and stunning scenery.

The weekend is based in the island’s capital Mahon and begins with a short 30km spin on Friday afternoon to a wine cellar on the south coast of the island for some wine and cheese before returning to Mahon. A rider presentation in the evening gives you the chance to mingle with professional riders and invited stars.
Saturday is the longest stage with a 110km circular route round the centre of the island followed by Sunday’s 62km route that takes in Monte Toro, the highest point in the island which rises 350m in just over three kilometres.
The total cost for the three-day event is €55 per entrant with the option of bringing non-riding partners to the rider party on Sunday for an extra supplement. Numerous hotels are available, and fully equipped road bikes can be hired if desired.
