High fat foods that are good for you (video)

Glenn Kearney from Etixx UK sets out the strengths of eggs and almonds in a cyclist's diet

Despite what we may be told, high fat foods aren’t necessarily bad particularly the right types in the right volumes.

For the latest Cycling Weekly nutritional video, Glenn Kearney from Etixx UK chooses two foods that all cyclists could benefit from including in their diets: eggs and almonds.

This video follows on from our discussion with the Etixx man where he pointed out the three main nutritional errors beginners make, and how we can all avoid them.

Kearney points to the high nutritional value of eggs thanks to their protein and fat content and demonstrates the versatility of almonds.

Etixx are the title sponsor of WorldTour men’s team Etixx-Quick Step and so work with high level pros throughout the season to find the best and most effective foods to aid all aspects of cycling.

What works for the pros can work for the rest of us, too, and this video might give some ideas about what to eat before your next race or sportive.
