The bike features a track geometry triple-butted alumnium frame and aero carbon fork. Components includes Truvativ Omnium GXP chainset, Fizik Arione saddle and cboardman Carbon/Pro finishing kit. Gold decals finish off the special edition look.
Unusually for a track bike, front and rear brakes can be fitted to make it more suitable for those that wish to use it as a fixed-wheel or singlespeed machine on the road.
“Success on the track in ’92 was the springboard for my career as a pro rider,” said Boardman, who is the research and development director at the bike firm that bears his name.
“Every hour spent in the velodrome paid back ten fold when I started to ride for a pro tour team. Track cycling might be a specific beast but I wanted to create a bike that could, without compromise, also be used on the road, so brake compatibility has been designed in. It would certainly make a unique fast-fixie!”
Boardman’s pursuit gold in 1992 is perceived by many as the start of Great Britain’s success in track and road cycling in the modern era.
