Mark Cavendish, Fabian Cancellara, Marcel Kittel and world champion Rui Costa are among those riders scheduled to take part in the inaugural Dubai Tour in February. The race will feature four stages, and run from February 5-8 2014.
The Tour will kick off with a 10km individual time trial in the new part of the city, followed by stage two, a 122km road stage around Dubai’s sporting areas. Stage three is the longest of the race at 162km, and heads out of Duabi to finish in Hatta. The final stage is in the old city and is 124km long.

All four stages of the UCI 2.1-ranked race will start from the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Sixteen teams and 128 riders will take part in the race, with the provisional list of starters including Cavendish, Cancellara, Kittel, Costa, Peter Sagan, Joaquim Rodriguez and Ji Cheng. Eleven teams will be from the UCI WorldTour, three from the Asia Tour, and the United Arab Emirates team and Dubai Sky Dive team.
The race is organised by RCS Sport, who also organise the Giro d’Italia, Milan-San Remo and many other events. The Dubai Tour in the first event in the 2014 UCI Asia Tour, and is followed in the Middle East by the Tour of Qatar (February 9-14) and Tour of Oman (February 18-23).
