Wellgo review

Wellgo, Pedal test
Cycling Weekly Verdict

Although the finish may not be quite as high-quality as the other pedals on test - noticeable in the pedalling action - for the price, this could be a good starter set if you are still unsure about getting started with clipless pedals.

Reasons to buy
  • +

    Well priced

  • +

Good option for those not sure about going clipless

Reasons to avoid
  • -

    Finish quality

The Wellgo and One23 RO-96B are effectively brothers.

As mentioned already, they share exactly the same casting and, come to mention it, cleat.

However, the visual is only skin-deep, and you soon notice that the downside to the £12 price difference is finish and bearing quality. That said, they are lighter (286g).
