The hot news today is that they’ve got bikes too!
At the team’s first press conference, held yesterday in Poreč, Croatia, they showed off their Merida bikes in team colours.
The team will ride Merida’s Reacto aero bike, Scultura climber’s bike and Warp TT time trial bike.
The press conference was attended by 21 of the team’s complete roster of 25 riders, including Nibali, his little brother Antonio and recent recruit Joaquim Rodriguez, who has signed for the team after his brief retirement.
The press conference was part of the team’s first training camp, with Brent Copeland, the team’s general manager saying: “For me, I can honestly say that it’s a proud moment for us to be sitting here for the first training camp. What we had put together in the last few months has been incredible. It’s a huge proud moment for us.”
The team has also signed up Sidi as its shoe partner, with the brand producing a special edition shoe in team colours called the Shot.
The team’s kit will be supplied by the Spanish brand Joma Sport, which kits out over 300 football teams as well as Spain and Portugal’s Olympic athletes.
Helmets and sunglasses will come from Rudy Project, a long-term sponsor of Nibali.
