For this week’s cycling quiz we’ve taken a look back to the Tour of Britain through the years, with a particular focus on its latest incarnation, which was launched in 2004.
The 2015 race runs from September 6 to 13 and covers a challenging route over eight stages, including visits to England, Wales and Scotland.
Now forming into something of a tradition in the vein of the Tour de France’s Grand Finale in Paris, the final stage of the ToB is once again a criterium around Central London, albeit on a revised route this year.
Different to recent editions there is no test against the clock, something that gained Sir Bradley Wiggins the overall victory in 2013 and third place in 2014, when he won the TT stage in both years.
Hoping to bounce back from his last ill-fated outing as team leader when he crashed on stage one of the Tour de Yorkshire, Ben Swift will be leading Team Sky‘s charge this year. Swift has strong support in the shape of Ian Stannard, Peter Kennaugh and others so could be well placed to take the win.
