Thinking of riding next year’s Etape du Tour? Or maybe you’ve already got your place booked? Either way, Cycling Weekly and Cyclefilm have got all of the information you need to get yourself ready for the 2008 Etape.

Taking place on Sunday July 6, next year’s Etape uses the tough Pau to Hautacam stage from the 2008 Tour de France. Over 8,000 riders are expected to line up in Pau to face the 154 kilometre ride through the Pyrenees, including the legendary Col du Tourmalet.

In this week’s Cycling Weekly, Britain’s top Etape rider Mike Cotty gives you a full preview of the route, with every climb and corner accounted for. If that wasn’t enough, you can also follow Mike in Cyclefilm’s hour-long Etape du Tour preview DVD, The Road to Hautacam, produced by the people who brought you the cyclo-sportive trilogy.

Press the play button on the video clip below to watch a trailer of the DVD – which also gives you a taste of the route itself.

The Road to Hautacam will be available via Cyclefilm’s web shop priced £14.99 from December 17. As well as the route preview, the DVD also contains a 45-minute cyclo-sportive survival guide and real-time on-bike footage of the Tourmalet and Hautacam sections.

Cycling Weekly November 15 issue is out on Thursday from WHSmith, major supermarkets and all good newsagents priced £2.40.
