Britain’s Emma Pooley won the GP Costa Etruschi in Livorno, Italy, on Friday.

The Cervélo rider beat America’s Kristin Armstrong, Marianne Vos of Holland and Sweden’s Susanne Ljungskog by 19 seconds.

Nicole Cooke was 12th, riding for her new team Vision 1 Racing, at 6-49.

In the second of the three-race series, on Saturday, Cooke was fifth, in a group that came in six seconds behind the winner Sarah Duester, of Cervélo. Britain’s Emma Silversides, riding for Lotto-Belisol was 12th.

And in Sunday’s final race Cooke was ninth, behind winner Linda Villumsen of Columbia-Highroad.
