Domagalski, riding for One Pro Cycling, was in the eight-strong breakaway on stage one of the race from Edinburgh to Kelso and appeared to be dropping back to his team car when the incident occurred.
As the Madison Genesis sports director handed a few energy bars to Connor Swift, he didn’t appear to realise that Domagalski was also dropping back from the group, hitting his back wheel and causing the Polish rider to fall from his bike.
Thankfully the incident occurred at low speed, with Domagalski appearing to be unhurt, remounting his bike, rejoining the break, and then going on the attack later in the race.
The opening stage of the 2017 Tour of Britain covers 190km through the Scottish borders, and is the first of eight stages of the race, which finishes in Cardiff on September 10.
