Here's this week's edition of the original cycling quiz

Friday means quiz day, and for this week’s edition we’ve once again delved into the archives and have found nine riders from the 1970s.

Different to previous outings of the cycling quiz that looked at World Champions and Tour yellow jerseys from this decade, these riders may be slightly more obscure. Although some of them will be instantly recognisable to the history buffs among you.

There’s something of a Flandrian feel to these nine riders but then that is quite indicative of the top end of cycling 40 years ago. Nevertheless, there is one British trailblazer included so home fans should be able to pick him out.

These riders’ heydays may have been before or after the 1970s, and the photos given might not be from the decade in question, but the only qualifier is that they rode a professional race at some point in that period.

See how many you can get right, and let us know how you do on Facebook and Twitter.
