Chris Froome cemented his position in the history books as one of cycling’s all time greats by winning the 2016 Tour de France, his third Tour victory.
Froome took the lead after winning stage eight of the 103rd edition of the race and from then on no one was going to catch him. This historic victory was made even more special by the fact he survived running up Mont Ventoux and crashing in the Alps.
