The final showdown for the climbers in this year’s Tour de France takes place on Thursday July 20 on stage 18, with a summit finish on the Col d‘Izoard. It’s also the setting for the women’s La Course race on the same day and for L’Etape du Tour on July 16.
In celebration of the famous climb, Mavic has launched a limited edition Izoard collection.

Consisting of shoes, jersey and socks, the collection features a jagged design in a mix of browns and blue, which Mavic says is based on the summer view of the Casse Déserte through which the summit road passes.
Mavic’s Izoard Limited Edition jersey is based on the Cosmic jersey and is priced at £69. Available in sizes small to extra large it comes in a close pro fit.
As you’d expect it is made of wicking fabric. It also includes side mesh inserts and a full zip for maximum ventilation on hot climbs.
The Izoard Limited Edition shoe is based on the Mavic Cosmic Pro. It’s closed with two of Mavic’s Ergo Dial quick release fastenings and has plenty of ventilation built in. Mavic highlights its light weight and suitability for the hardest climbing stages.
The shoes are available in sizes and half sizes between six and 11..5 Price for the Izoard Limited Edition is £239.
To finish things off, there are Izoard socks in blue and black, based on the Cosmic High model and priced at £12.
Again, Mavic emphasises their light weight, mesh construction and ventilation. The toe seam is flatlocked to avoid irritation, while the Meryl Skinlife fabric incorporates odour- suppressing silver ions.
