The 2010 Tour de France will start in the Dutch city of Rotterdam.
Tour organisers ASO announced that Rotterdam narrowly beat another Dutch city, Utrecht, for the honour of hosting the race start.
It will be the Tour’s second visit to Rotterdam. Thirty five years, ago in 1973, the Dutch city hosted a stage finish and start the next day. The winner was Belgian cyclist Willy Tierlinck.
