Although there are plenty of festivities being organised to celebrate next year’s visit of the Tour de France to Yorkshire, one thing had been missing: a sportive following the route.

CFC’s Etape de Yorkshire event will be held on the stage one route, from Leeds to Harrogate, on June 8 2014. Registration is due to go live next Friday (December 13). To sign up, keep your eyes on the CFC website.
Meanwhile, if you could do with a calendar to plan all your rides next year, CFC has just released its own 2014 kitchen calendar featuring some of the little riders it has helped get in the saddle. Each calendar costs £4 and all the money raised from their sale goes direct to the charity.
